ENG125 miles for a Breakfast
I love to have breakfast. I could sit at the breakfast table for hours but of course, I can only do that when I don't have to work - probably like most of the readers here. I also love to have breakfast at a café but of course, I only do that occasionally as well.
A little while ago, my Auntie, who lives in a beautiful little place called Mantel in the Upper Palatinate, posted pictures of an opulent breakfast buffet. That instantly whetted my appetite and I commented on that post: "I am coming!" Thank God, my Auntie understood and took action: She reserved a table for us at the Mehrzweckhalle Mantel. Every month (always on a Tuesday), This is the place to be when you want a breakfast buffet that leaves to be desired.
Of course, I didn't have to think twice! Plus, that was the perfect opportunity to pay a visit to the place I had spent my early childhood in and spend some quality time with my Aunt and Uncle. So I left Munich one day before. My Auntie had warned me. Meanwhile, the breakfast buffet is an event not only local breakfast fans are waiting for. Guests also come from the surrounding towns. "If we want to eat well", she said, "we need to be there at 08:00 o'clock." Tuesday, 11 September 2018 was the day.

And getting up that early was definitely worth it. I was flashed by the ample selection of cold and warm dishes, fresh bread, fruit, a selection of cakes and sweet dishes. Coffee, tea and various juices are served with it.
People need something warm
As my Auntie had predicted, the Mehrzweckhalle was well frequented and the guests enjoyed the substantial breakfast - by the way, tenant Helga Meier and her daughter prepare all the dishes with a lot of love and affection.

Good food and conversation made time fly and at 11:00, we left the Mehrzweckhalle full and contented. By the way, my Auntie an me politely declined the lift home and decided to walk - somehow, this silenced our conscience...
I definitely had the longest way to this breakfast but I know one thing for sure: "I'll be back!"
